Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

~ 2 Corinthians 5:17

.

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. 18 Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation. ‍‍‍20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 21 He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

~ 2 Corinthians 5:17-21

.

As they rode along, they came to some water, and the eunuch said, "Look! There's some water! Why can't I be baptized?" 37 Then Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." And he answered and said, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God." 38 He ordered the carriage to stop, and they went down into the water, and Philip baptized him.

~ Acts 8:36-38

.

Then Jesus went from Galilee to the Jordan River to be baptized by John.  14 But John tried to talk him out of it. "I am the one who needs to be baptized by you," he said, "so why are you coming to me?"  15 But Jesus said, "It should be done, for we must carry out all that God requires." So John agreed to baptize him.  16 After his baptism, as Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and settling on him.  17 And a voice from heaven said, "This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy."

~ Matthew 3:13-17

.

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

~ Ephesians 2:8-9
